Outreach and education beyond the bounds of university
General public
With the aim of explaining the relevance of my research and of mathematical physics to a general public, I took a few initiatives, among which the following short YouTube video:
- YouTube video for the EU-funded R&I projects:
“BVCGA, The BV construction: a geometric approach”.
Bachelor and Master students
To expose bachelor and master students to more recent and advanced results, in addition to creating and organizing the introductory seminars at Aarhus university, I have also been writing articles and giving talks explicitly devoted to students. Here I will just recall:
- Article: “The BV construction in the framework of noncommutative geometry”
for the QGM Highlights 2017 - Talk: “Ghost fields: non-existing particles or existing geometrical properties? ”
at the “50ste Nederlands Mathematisch Congres”,
For the research developed during my PhD and presented in this talk, I have been awarded with the Philips Mathematics Prize.
PhD students
As part of a Masterclass to train the new generation of PhD students in the field of noncommutative geometry, I gave a series of talks on the topic Spectral triples as noncommutative spin manifolds.
- Masterclass: “Noncommutative geometry: spaces, bundles and connections ”
joint with G. Landi, at the center for Quantum Geometry of Moduli spaces, (Denmark)
Research talks:
As the recent pandemic events made extremely evident, sometimes it could be meaningful to make research talks available online to the international community. This is why, as organizer, I decided to make all the research talks given during the QGM seminars publicly available on the website of the group.
For the same reason, when asked, I have always agreed on making my own talks available to anyone who could be interested. Here are some of my seminars that are still available on the web.
- Talk: “The BV formalism in noncommutative geometry: a brief overview”
for the “Workshop on Operator Algebras and Applications: Non-Commutative Geometry”
Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, Toronto (Canada). - Talk: “The BV extension for finite spectral triples”
for the “Geometric Structures Laboratory”
Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, Toronto (Canada). - Talk: “The Batalin- Vilkovisky construction for finite spectral triples”
for the Thematic Programme “String field theory, BV quantization, and moduli spaces”
Schödinger International Institute for Mathematics and Physics, Vienna (Austria). - Talk: “The BV-BRST cohomology for U(n)-gauge theories induced by finite spectral triples”
for the conference “Noncommutative geometry meets topological recursion”
University of Münster, (Germany). - Talk: “Noncommutative manifolds and the BV construction: the case of U(n)-matrix models”
for the conference “String field theory, BV quantization, and moduli spaces”
Simons Center for Geometry and Physics, Stony Brook, (United States). - Talk : “The BV construction in the setting of NCG: application to a matrix model”
at the Hausdorff Trimester Program “Non-commutative Geometry and its Applications.”
